Who’s In Front of You? It doesn’t matter!

Today was one of those days where it seemed that every car, bicyclist, and pedestrian wanted to jump in front of me while I was driving to work. I started to get irritated but, I realized we all have one goal in mind; to reach our destinations safely and on time. And I thought of it as a metaphor for life.

There are moments when you will get frustrated and feel as if your journey isn’t progressing the way you think it should. Your timing seems slow & it will seem that everyone is getting in front of you. You might even feel a tinge of jealousy, wondering why everyone else seems miles ahead. You could feel that you’ve been left back or pushed to the side. But, you will arrive to your intended destination safely and on time if you exercise patience, peace, and willingness. This could mean letting others go ahead of you, and celebrating them when they do. It also means enjoying the stops along the way. Stops come in the form of people, challenges, obstacles, rest, etc. Your journey might even require you to change your direction altogether (which can be daunting). But, no matter what, you will get there. And when you do, you will be ready to handle what your destination (destiny) entails. I am currently on the road of a (sometimes scary) journey and I’m not sure where I am going to end up. But what I know for certain, is that it will be good, I will be prepared. And I am trying very hard to enjoy the pit stops and lessons along the way.

Happy journeying & safe travels on this road called life…

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11
